I settled my outstanding vehicle loan on 22 Feb 2013 with Wesbank finance based on a settlement letter expiring on 23 Feb 2013. I subsequently sent proof of payment. I then noted an additional installment on the settled account went through on 25/02/2013, after the account was settled in full. I contacted Wesbank on Monday 25 to notify them of this and they acknowledged receipt of the settlement and advised that they would refund the installment once the amount reflects. I called again on Tuesday to ascertain whether the request for refund was made and I was told that the installment would reflect on Wednesday 27 Feb 2013. I called on Wednesday and logged a refund and was told to expect one within 24 to 48 hours. I then called on Thursday 28 Feb and was told to expect my refund by the next day being Friday 01 March as the refund had been logged successfully. I was advised to follow up midday Friday which I did and was told that my request would have to be logged again as it was erroneously logged as refinance by the consultant on Wednesday, no mention was made of my Thursday call and the fact that I was specifically told that a refund and not a "refinance" was logged. Frustrating!
