I erroneously overpaid the settlement figure on my hire purchase account by roughly R2000. I have requested a refund via phone and email. The bank, even thought they acknowledged that they have my money, refuse to process a refund without proof of payment. So I emailed, at their request, my bank statement. They now say this is not good enough and they won't process a refund until they have proof of payment. I bank with FNB and Wesbank is in bed with them under the First Rand Bank umbrella; I say ask them for proof yourselves! It is the same bank!!!
Will I recommend Wesbank to anyone else? Not unless my faith is restored.
