After jumping through hoops to get all the necessary documentation in to Standard Bank regarding my purchase of a house a first time home buyer, I had to phone the home loan division to find out the status of my home loan application. The application had been declined 2 days before I phoned to find out the status. The reason for the application being declined was that the valuation was less that the application amount. Living in the complex for the last 2 years I know that 2 units were sold for more than the application. They were unwilling to send an evaluator to do a physical evaluation.. Being a standard bank customer for 10 year I am really disappointed in the way the application was treated as well as their unwillingness to go the extra mile for one of their own customers
