Bond/home loan application on my house. Facts: I own the property in entirety. No outstanding amounts/loan on property. 2 guest rooms attached to the property that is occasionally rented to overnighters. These rooms comprises 14.82% of property. No official business is registered or run on the property. Property is business zoned. Used completely as a residence. In a residential area. All confirmed by evaluator.
At the initial application process all this was explained to Standard Bank and I was assured that this is no problem, I am entitled to a residential home loan an the business zoning is also no problem providing I can prove residential use which was done by evaluator. Loan qualification amount is MORE than I applied for. I comply with all other requirements. After three months of struggling, supporting documents, thousands of R spent on travelling, etc. application was declined only after continually phoning SB for updates. SB refuses to give me a reason for declining and when I insisted that it is my right to know the T L, Clifford, was rude and condescending and told me to go to another institution. SB will not reinstate the application.
