We have been fighting this problem for probably 6 months now. My daughter picked up a problem on her account (ie) student account holders pay R16.50 and this includes for all notifications, transactions etc. Any transactions made through Saswitch and are charged extra. At the Hatfield branch they acknowledged the problem and advised my daughter that they are only able to backdate over charges for three months. We eventually received these monies and two days later there were over charges again! We went to Eastlands branch and they sorted out the issues - or so we thought. Today on checking her bank statement she found that her monthly charge of R17.00 was charged (which is correct) but was charged R0.50 for internet banking and another R1.00 for transaction fees. The staff at the Hatfield student centre treat the students like and address their enquiries with absolute disregard. This was the reason I went to my branch at Eastlands in the hope that these issues would be resolved. I spoke to Customer Service on numerous occasions - I am tired of the ABSA attitude and look forward to hearing their further excuses.
