I have had terrible experience with Absa bank charges. The fees I get charged on my current account are exorbitant. I pay for everything under the sun internet banking fees, debit interest charges, Ledger fees, monthly account fees, admin charges and transaction charges. On average I pay a total of R 500 month with transaction charges making up a great portion of these. I have tried speaking to the consultants at the bank and them advice that I must stop withdrawing money from the saswitch machines, I have made an effort not to use these machines anymore but that has not the level of charges I pay. The is worse is that in January I got charged all the fees I normally pay as mentioned above in addition i was charged 600 for transactions, this is ludicrous what bank charges a retail client that kind of money for transacting through them. Even if the bank can explain these charges I can certainly do better with another bank. I am very disappointed with Absa their charges, every cent counts I don't appreciate paying R600 for transaction fees.
