False information and lack of enlightenment

I opened a student account with ABSA three years ago. They told me that, as a student, I only pay R13, 00 per month, regardless of ATM transactions and inter-bank transactions. It was not until this year, when I had to open an account at another bank and needed three month's bank statement from ABSA, that I saw they were actually charging me R16, 00 basic, as well as at least R9, 00 for every transaction - more for drawing more money, etc. I understand that bank rates go up... but they never told me that all transactions were now being charged extra! I am seriously considering moving over completely to the other bank, as they are very transparent.
