Last year 2012, I applied for a student account with absa. my account was opened as "STUDENT SILVER CHEQUE ACCOUNT" and I was paying monthly fees of R16.50 and everything continued smoothly. until this year September i started noticing some extra charges that i was billed for later this year I was. Today i went to absa for help with clarity. after hours of waiting I found out that my account was changed automatically (without my consent). so the transactions could not be reversed. I fail to understand how is it possible that my account was changed without notifying me. And they couldn't come up with a solution to my problem because the consultants did not understand the root problem and "they have never dealt with a case like this one." i have been an absa client since 2008
