First National Bank
BEEN CHARGED WHEN ACCOUNT SHOULD HAVE BEEN CLOSED

Last October I had changed from FNB to another bank. I went into the Branch in Morning Manor Sandton.
Told the consultant that i need to close the account, he checked the account and advised i had a small credit of R1 some change and asked were should they transfer the credit. I told the guy to transfer the money to my saving pocket. he made me sign some forms then went to speak to the manager, as she was the only person that can offically close the account, after speding my entire 1 hour break he says they are offline and that the account can not be closed at that time. Last month I get a letter saying i owe more than R400 and in terms of some act I can be listed. I have not been using the service and its noy my dam fault that FNB was offline, I made it my duty to visit the branch to close the account, Now i get this letter demanding monies from me. I think this was done on purpose, FNB is afriad of losing customers so they keep the accounts active to make some money off people. I am sure there is some record on the system that I had requested to close the account. I am not willing to pay any of the charges as the bank owed me money when the account was requested to be closed
