No estimated waiting period, it could take 40 days

I had an issue with an ABSA ATM at Crown China City on Saturday. I withdrew money that did not come out, a short while later the machine advised that there was a technical error. Upon that I made a call to ABSA advising of that, I spoke to Kenneth who confirmed that he could see that the money is out of my account but that I did not receive it. He advised that I should contact my bank and my bank would contact them to confirm this, then they will reverse the cash. I spoke to Chloe today who advised that they will pass the query to another department and I will be contacted to advise of the outcome. I asked her how many days this process takes and she first said there is no time frame that they could give me, however, it could take up to 40 days She still said it could take less than that however there is no time frame on when this matter will be resolved and I need to know when the money will be in my account. I just need to know how long this matter will be take to get resolved.
