I contacted Standard Bank in last week to apply for a Personal Loan. After speaking to about 7 people I actually got a call back from someone on Monday this week to complete the application.
I completed the application with Vernon who advised me of my repayments per month, that I was approved, everything was sorted, no need to visit the branch, and an SMS would be received within 24 hours to confirm the funds have been made available.
Today is Thursday, and I am still waiting. I followed up yesterday, after speaking to a further 4 consultants with no joy, I was promised a call back. I was so happy when I received that call back, only to find out that that consultant was incorrectly informed by a previous consultant of what my query actually was, this person then said they would transfer me someone who would assist, but instead hung up on me. Called this morning, spoke to 2 consultants. I stated my case, and I received no apology, no empathy, just dead silence on the other end. I am disgusted with type of service, after being a loyal customer for many years. At this point I want to close my Standard Bank account and take my business elsewhere seeing as Standard Bank doesnt need it
