Standard Bank Incompetence

I had a great relationship with Standard Bank before but what their loan department have done really disappointed me. Last year around September I went to apply a loan from standard bank branch Randburg situated from the mall. It was a R1000.00 loan, but they took time to processed it, so i went back to them and asked them to cancel the whole loan application and one of their consultant confirmed it was cancelled.

Just yesterday I received a call from Lawyers telling me that I owe Standard bank and my account has been handed to them. Can Standard bank really explain this to me that how this happened?
