On the 8th Decemeber 2013 I used my STD Bank debit card around 08H00 at a STD Bank ATM in Thabong Shopping centre in Sebokeng. After putting my pin the card was swallowed by the ATM. I then immediately called the emergency number to report the incident while standing at the ATM. I was assured by the consultant that he had stopped the card and there was not transaction that had gone through. To my suprise when I went to the bank the following day to apply for a new card I was told that R5000 had been withdrawn from my card at another ATM around the same time that I reported the matter without even moving from the ATM. I was advised to report the matter to the department of which I did on the 9th December 2013. Todate I have contacted STD Bank more than six times and each consultant tells me the same story that someone will call me after 48hours and nobody has ever called. I spoke to Wyn, Hoosain, Shaun, ect. All of them have been telling me that they would escalate the matter to their superiors but to no avail.
