On 24 Dec 2013 I had two sms'es indicicating transactions on my credit card - one for SAA for over R10 000 and the other for Expedia Travel Agency for R169. I immediately stopped the card in question and reported the matter to Standard Bank Investigation department who said they would send me an affidavit and investigate further. I was able to track the transaction via SAA accounts dept who could see the flight details booked and even the passenger name etc but for security reasons would not give this information to a third party - I however advised Standard Bank of these details - even the flight ref number. Waited a week and heard nothing. I called again on 2nd Jan and again requested the form as I had by then not had any response via tel or email. I have since submitted the signed affidavit and tried to follow up today 10 Jan again. After holding and being cut off twice I eventually got to speak to a consultant who said he was unable to give any feedback, but that he would escalate the matter. When asked why the case had not been dealt with after 3 weeks he said that Standard Bank were experiencing "a high volume of cases" - a poor excuse for service
