I have been banking with standard for as long as I can remember, but I must say that their service is purely pathetic and far from being satisfactory. I had the unfortunate experience of being part of an ATM where R5000 was withdrawn from my account in a matter of minutes. I lodged a complaint with the department the very same day (12/12/2013), a week ago I was told that they required a itemised billing from my network supplier to confirm that I did make a call to the lost card department to stop my card as soon as the incident took place and I was given a new reference number: 2013121700242. I managed to fax through a bill last week Thurs, I have still not heard back from them. I have friends who went through the same ordeal and their money was returned to them within a matter of days whether it was with standard bank or any of the other banks. I am very upset at the service I am receiving as I have been a faithful client to standard bank for many years. As of now I have a good mind to close all my accounts with them and switch to another bank.
