Standard Bank
68year old pensioner, mistreated by her bank

On the 5th of july 2013, i was mugged, my hand bag with my credit card, cheque cards, drivers licence and 2 cellphones. This incident happened between 17.45 and 18.00. I was far from home i then reported the matter at about 21.00pm i was not informed about the withdrawal of R5000.00 on my account. On the 6-07-2013 i collected a temporaly card from the standard bank. On the 08-07-2013 when i was trying to send money to my niece i then noticed that R5000.00 was withdrawn from the date of the incident. I then immediately reported the matter to customer service, who reffered me to the department, then i was later reffered to the ATM department. On the 26-07-2013 i was contacted by Eugene Msibi who informed me that my claim was denied because i was liable due to the use of my pin number (how they got my pin number, i dont know, i never kept my pin in written in my handbag i always intenallised same). I have been a loyal standard bank client from 1979 . I requested a written resolution statement which i did not get. I was informed by Kabelo from the complaints department that i need to lodge a complaint, that was duly done. I am deeply dissappointed and furious with this treatment
