19th December I applied online for a credit card limit increase on my platinum card - and received a notice to call them
So I call and they say because I am not a citizen they need additional documentation - work contract, proof of residence, ID etc - all documentation they had last year to open the account... plus they want latest payslip and 3 months of bank statements (and yes I am an FNB customer so why should I pay for certified statements from them when they can pull up my records themselves??)
I took all this to my branch of FNB and they copied/certified it all and sent it in. The next week I phoned and the credit card dept said they hadn't received it, so I went back to my branch who called them and suddenly they found it all. Im told 3-4 working days and it will be resolved and off I go
So I hear nothing and ten days later call again - seems its still sitting there, no one has looked at it - and they will get back to me this week sometime!!
How long does it take to resolve a simple request - they have had the documentation now for over two weeks but no apology - just " we will let you know"
I think its about time I examine my banking alternatives
