I went to renew my vehicle registration and was informed by the cashier at the traffic department my vehicle was not visible on the system, after checking the eNatis database I was informed that there is a vehicle in KZN registered with a duplicate VIN number they suggested I contact the Bank (ABSA) to further investigate this issue or advise a way forward, after initially contacting ABSA, I had some brief interaction requesting documentation related to the vehicle and was told I would be informed on the tasks to be undertaken thereafter.
Needless to say it is nearly 2 months later and I have not had a response after multiple mails and phone calls, I have been stopped by the SAPS and JMPD who have threatened to impound my vehicle, I pay my vehicle finance on time every month without fail yet you cannot provide me with the common courtesy of even servicing my requests.
