Double debits Deduction

I have changed my debit order date for my personal loan from the 25th to the 1st of every month. An Absa agent called to advice that there will be double debit on the 25th then on the 1st of Jan 2014. I explained to the agent that in the case of double debit thay can leave the debit order as-is i.e. 25th of every month.

Now Absa went ahead and deducted on the 27th Dec 2013 and again on the 2nd Jan 2014.
An agent Mr T Govender who couldn't supply me with a ref number for the call, said if i reverse the debit then my account will be in arrears. So Absa please explain the double debits that went through against my will.
