I called Dail Direct, asked for a quote and it was given to me. They said, for the system to give me a quote, i need to provide all my details including my banking details. Me thinking, this is a reputable company, i gave them my details and specified that I am not taking the cover yet. I then went back to my current insurance (Miway), and they gave me a better deal than the quote i got. I then confirmed with Dail Direct that i will not be taking their cover and will stay with Miway. The gentleman in the call centre thanked me and I told them that I will be calling them in June, when i finish paying my car, to get another quote.
My account was debited with two amounts yesterday (01/02/2013) of R696.65 and R340.00. This is not something i thought a reputable company like Dail Direct how do. As an insurance company, i think all the above can be confirmed with the recordings of the telephone conversations.
I will also be taking this up with the Insurance Ombudsman as I think this si not right.
