Debt my account - and no policy document

I have taken out car insurance on the 03/04/13, with dial direct, first of all the consulant did not know which company i was taking out the insurance with, he had to put me on hold and find out. I have not received a policy document as yet fron Dial direct and did not get the details as to were i should take the car for inspection, which i have asked to be emailed to me. The consultant told me that once the 1st debit order goes off the car will be cover. for the lack of service in providing me with the details for the inspection, i will not take my car in and i will be covered. this is a slip up from your consulatant. i would like it in writing from Dial direct that should any claims arise i will be covered.
