Debit Order Still Going off My Closed Account

On Tuesday 17 Dec I gave Charmaine (who answered the phone in the student loans department) the instruction to give me a settlement amount for my student loan and clear the account from my debit account. She agreed; the money disappeared from my account but never reflected in my student loan balance.

On Thurs 19 Dec I phoned helpdesk and spoke to Maxine. She apologized profusely; told me Charmaine had just put the money in a large "collections" account but left no instruction for admin to match it to my student loan account. She indicated that she had remedied it.

On Sat 21 Dec; concerned with all the public holidays coming; I called premium banking and asked them to check that it had been done since the money still reflected in my student loan account. They contacted the student loan department on my behalf; assured me that the balance on the account would now reflect zero and that the debit order has been cancelled.

On 25 Dec; Christmas morning so the start of 2 days public holiday; I found that the debit order of R239 has gone off my account with reference "Studentln10218".

I have found dealing with this department frustrating from start to finish and am very disappointed.
