Account not closed depsite settlement

I paid off my Student Loan on 30/5 after confirming the amount due with a consultant at the Student Loans. She said no further action was required after settling and that the account would be closed. A debit order still went off my account on 26/6. I called Absa today on the same number today and could not connect. I called the Transactional lending dept at 9:47am, Charlaine kept me holding for over 15 mins while calling around. She responded that no one she contacted could assist me. She calls back at 1:45pm saying NO ONE at the 6 depts she called can even FIND my student loan account at ABSA and that I need to go into a branch to get my money refunded! If NO ONE in the ENTIRE of ABSA (as per Charlaine) can't even find my student loan account, do you honestly expect me to stand in line at the branch for NOTHING?! This is EXTREMELY DISSATISFYING CUSTOMER SERVICE and was the reason I left Absa Private Bank for another reputatable Private Bank whose service levels they can never match! Thanks for my hard earned money and giving me PATHETIC SERVICE in return. A colleague had the same experience with an ABSA VAF account and used this forum. I wonder if I'll even get a response
