I just got off the phone with SAU who have apparently cancelled my policy because I made a valid claim. The initial cancellation notice said that I made multiple claims - when I phoned, they said they'd made a mistake and it is actually due to the claim I made - when I asked what is wrong with it, the lady on the phone went on to read me the paraphrased version of clause 7.2 which just says that they may cancel the policy if they feel like it. I would really like to get the WHY out of the way, before I point out that insurance companies exist solely for such problems as I had in May.
BTW - I've seen a report of an IDENTICAL incident on this site for this month.
