I am a first time home buyer and tried to apply with my bank that I have been banking for years they declined me. I was on a normal savings plan and they have advised me to change my account to elite banking which I would get good interests rates and good credit scores which they definitely just to get me to change my account.
What was it even more disappointing is that FNB and SA Homeloans are willing to provide me with my homeloan.
Standard bank calls me on a daily basis to increase my loan amount with them which I find really pathethic as they would want to give me a higher loan and decline my homeloan.
please be aware as they would just want customers to bank with Standard bank just to get commission on clients that they get to sign.
