Worst bank to deal with

I have been a std Bank Client for many years now and was advised to open a cheque account to get better rate when applying for homeloan, car finance and so on, but this is all a lie. From the time I need any of this Standard bank always refused me. I applying for a car finance they turned me done but FNB approved me. I applying for a Homeloan last week I was turned down again but FNB approved. Why must I bank with a bank that turns me down and further more Std bank said due to affordability but the other day someone from STD bank called to increase my revolving loan to R50000.How is this possible. I am considering to close my account and move over to FNB.people out there don't be fooled by this bank cause they are never willing to help.
