ATM swallowed my card, costing me R 65.00

On the morning of 2 December 2013, I tried too draw money from a ABSA atm. My card was swallowed by the the atm. I immediately phoned the lost and line indicated on the atm.

I went to replace my card this afternoon, and was informed that i have to pay R 65.00 for a new card. When I enquired as to why - Seeing that ABSA's atm swallowed my card - I was told that that is how it works and if i'm unhappy i can call the client service line...

My card was in perfect working order, and I'm a long term client of ABSA... I'm extremely disappointed in the way this was handled and the way I was spoken to..

If I lost my card, or damaged it beyond use I would have gladly replaced it on my own pocket... BUT YOUR ATM SWALLOWED MY CARD FOR NO APPARENT REASON!!! Treat your costumers with more respect
