The hail storm on Thursday afternoon left my family and I homeless as obvious as it is I called my home insurer who's line was engaged the whole night.
Next morning made my way to the Branch where I and numerous homeowners were queuing and desperate for assistance, the only this we were told was to fill out a claim form and they will email it to the insurance division in Johannesburg or alternatively go direct to them.
An sms was received with a reference number and a 48hour turnaround time, tried calling them after 48hours but the number provided was engaged.
The games began when I was shoved from post to pillar with rude and ineffective call centre agents all saying the same thing as though they are programmed to not assist a person.
I am homeless with a sickly mother, 2 teenagers and a 2year old toddler surviving from kind peoples pity all because ABSA cannot stick to their turnaround time and actually do what they are supposed to do, what I pay them to assist me and my family in our time of need, is that not why we pay insurance? This is beyond pathetic.
