Last week Wednesday, my house was severely damaged with a garden wall toppling over due to huge downpour. This completely exposed the border between my property and the neighbors. It was reported to ASBA Home Owners Insurance first thing Thursday morning. Now, five days later ZERO progress on the case, apart from a claim number allocated. I live abroad, and have tenants in this house. In the interim I have spent more than 90 minutes wasting money on their call centre, which either just plays music or alternatively puts me through to an incompetent person that cannot assist and promises to phone back. It is only when you live outside of South Africa that you realize how absolutely inferior ABSA's service is compared to international levels.
