Activation of card

I opened a new account online after being told it's the fastest and convenient way. Card was delivered within 7 days andi was told to xfer R100 for activation which I did. When checking if the card is active I got a msg that I must go to the branch to activate it. Why was this not mentioned when opening the account online? I would've just gone to the bank rather than wasting my time online and still having to got inside the bank to do this. This is very misleading and time wasting and totally unacceptable. I'm a loyal client and will continue to be but I feel inconvenienced
