I switched over to FNB after hearing about all the services I would recieve, and setup my new account online. The couriers contacted me after 2 days to arrange the drop off of my card. Once it was dropped off I activated the card online and was told that I could now start swiping and earning points etc. Nowhere in the packaging, nor on the website does it say that I need to wait 48 hours for the account and card to activate, as it is fully functional on the website.
I transferred my money from my previous account over to my new FNB account and now added to the fact that it will only reflace after a few days, I cannot use the money in the account as my failed pay slip says "card not authorised". In an attempt to activate it via the FNB ATM I got the error "account frozen". I was then told that I need to wait 48 hours till the account and card is active. Why was this not mentioned online or in the card packaging? I would definitely not have transferred my money inot if I had known it was inactive.. Not a very happy first impression of FNB, quite dissapointed.
