And here I thought I was joining THE bank

I opened a savings account online with FNB thinking that this was quick and convenient. I got a reference number and account number and waited to be contacted to deliver my card... nothing... eventually I called the call centre where a rather short off lady said it takes 5 to 7 working days max... interesting since i could have had my card the same day at a competitor... I waited, day 7 came and went... I called today, there appears to be no record of the account being opened and since i have mislaid the piece of paper I printed off the site, no account number. i did try a few days ago to find out where the process was with the reference number... it did not work... I got an sms saying a courier would call me and thanks for opening a CHEQUE account... still nothing. I had a reason for opening the account at FNB it was called quick and convenient... well it has not been quick and certainly not convenient and if I don't have my card by Friday (2 weeks after opening the account), FNB can forget i was ever a potential client and I will go to the competition.
