I took a personal loan with nedbank for R6000 in 2008. account went into arrears when i became unemployed. in 2011 December i went to Nedbank to make payment and was informed i couldn't pay at the branch and had to call the contact centre. i was informed i needed to sign a document regarding payment arrangement. I informed her to come into our offices and she came i filled in the document and told her to debit on the 27th of each month as it was my salary date. dat was not the case. nobody contacted me to inform me the debits were unsuccessful. This year i called nedbank to find out my balance and was told my account was handed over to Smith and Smith Attorney's. and im listed on itc with a judgement. I spoke to a lady named Maartie from Smith and Smith Attorneys. I asked how i listed as nobody called to inform me my debits were not going through and that i would be listed. She informed me my settlement was R5000. Last week i called requesting for my settlement letter as i wanna close the account and was now informed i owe 11000 and settlement is 9000 as the attorneys added interest and attorney fees. y i don't no as nobody from that company ever made contact with me
