Went into ABSA Key West to cancel my debit order for a car that was sold. Bongani from ABSA Key West was very helpful and I wrote the letter in the bank and he sent it to ABSA Insurance. The next month the payment went through again. I went to the bank and that payment was reversed. The next month again. When I went to the bank this time ABSA called ABSA Insurance and I was told it will now be cancelled but that I will not be refunded. When I insisted out of principle I was told do what you want. I was standing at the bank and went viral. I was seen by Bongani again and he called them with the proof of an email that was sent to them by ABSA Key West. That was the last I heard from them and still no refund. Often if you want to cancel a debit order the excuse will be that the supplier must cancel it from their side but ABSA to ABSA Insurance. Surely this should have been done by a click of a button? Not acceptable. And clearly ABSA Insurance does not know anything about customer service.
