I contacted Absa Travel Insurance two days before I was leaving on 2 week trip to the USA. (21 March) I specifically ask the question if the insurance is covering another 2 week trip in September to Russia. I was assured that it does. On 20th I received the documents for policy ABSO153186DNA and ABSO153180DNA
I noticed that it only covers the current trip to USA. I called specific agent and pointed it out to her. After some discussion with a supervisor she returned to the phone and acknowledged that she made a mistake and offered to cancel the policies. I told her that I will consider this and if I do want to cancel I would do it via email the same day. The insurance was cancelled within hours after I got the policy documents.
Numerous email to ABSA insurance is being ignored and all indications are that they have no intention to refund me (nor respond to me emails)
If ABSA Insurance cannot honour a cancellation, what is the chance that they would have honoured a valid claim on any policy?
I do respect ABSA Bank, however totally disillusioned with ABSA travel insurance
