I opened an account via the internet. They immediately gave me the cheque account, but not the credit card. I decided to wait awhile and phone them for the facility a day or so after.
It was declined, which is fine. I decided i would like to remain at my bank as they have already given me the facility i requested.
Now i have an open account with FNB that needs to be cancelled. I phoned to close it and the lady said that i have to go into the branch and that i have to take only my ID. I understood and did exactly that. I had to make another deposit at the bank so i confirmed with the cashier at Zevenwacht mall FNB whether or not i only need my ID document (i didn't want to wait for nothing). She confirmed. I took a seat at the sales consultants area, waited 35 minutes to be helped only for them to tell me i need a proof of residence.
I left the bank, very upset as i had to wait for so long. I emailed a complaint on the FNB website only for a Moipone Sekokope (Service consultant) to reply that i need to go to the branch with only my ID (he obviously didn't even bother to read my complaint or mail) i emailed him again only to receive the same answer.
