On Friday, 22Nov I went to the Standard Bank ATM at Linksfield Terrace to draw money. Instead, their ATM ''swallowed'' my debit card and hence was then forced to go to my branch at Eastgate and have the card replaced. The card was immediately replaced and over that weekend I decided to go onto the internet and check that everything was in order in my account. To my dismay, I noticed that they had debited my account with an amount of R76.00 for a new card. They "swallowed'' my card and therefore should they not be held liable for the cost. I have since sent an e-mail complaint to three staff members, of the bank, on the 26Nov, and guess what, not one of them have even had the decency to acknowledge my e-mail. According to my personal standards, Communication, will always remain a top priority of any successful company but this does not seem to be the case with Africa's oldest bank???
Let's now wait and see how long they take to respond to my complaint via hello [URL Removed]
