On 19 September, my Discovery Platinum Credit Card was at the FNB ATM at Grayston Shopping Center. The reason was the had reset the terminal for Cell Phone Banking. I did not recognise the screen. At the ATM and on my Discovery Credit Card statements there are tips on how to prevent cards being. Not one of the tips warn against terminal resets. R5000.00 was withdrawn within 3 minutes of the card being. I did not know that my limit was R6000.00 per day! On 19 October I requested my limit to be lowered to R1000.00 per day as Nedbank Amex and Visa do. I was told I was NOT ALLOWED to lower the limit. How irresponsible can a bank be? Discovery directed me to FNB division to complete a dispute form. I received limited telephonic feedback about why I was only being offered a good faith repayment. I refused as I requested a full credit due to the ATM reset. I asked for a written report and none was sent. After the my Discovery Card Statement showed INCONSISTENT billing including on an EXPIRED (isnt this?) card and SECONDARY card for transactions on same day (Pumelani Toll Plaza). I would cancel card but would lose insurance discounts.
