I had a discovery credit card with a limit of only R2500. Due to my wife's e-tag's flat battery she started to use my E-tag. This was linked to my Discovery card. My wife travels a lot and the bill from Bakwena was quite high. My balance went over the limit 2 months in a row and I was fined R220 per month. I was not very happy with Discovery and I closed my account with immediate effect. Settlement was R3077 which I paid in full. This morning I received a SMS from Discovery for a deduction of R264 for my e-tag. A few minutes ago I received another SMS from Discovery that my limit has been exceeded and I must please pay R489.60. This is the R264 plus a fine of about R225.60. Now my expectation was that my account was closed and they must reject any debit order or request for payment. Ridiculous! I will never deal with Discovery again and will warn all my friends and relatives against them.
