Silver to platinum card upgrade not asked for

I received an offer via email from discovery to upgrade my silver discovery card to platinum. I responded with a mail asking them to please contact me as I wanted more information.

A couple of days later I get a phone call asking where my card can be delivered to.

I see on my online banking that I now have one platinum and one silver discovery cards with exactly the same credit limit.

I have been trying to find out what the story is with regards to the credit limit and apparently there is no credit limit increase from silver to platinum cards?

So my questions to them are:
1. How do they justify charging me DOUBLE the card fee on the platinum card than they are charging me on the silver card when they are offering me exactly the same service, with exactly the same credit limit???
2. How can they upgrade my card when all I have done was reply to their offer asking them to contact me?
