It turns out that Standard Bank has been overcharging service fees on all home loans of R500 000 or less, that were entered into before the National Credit Act came into effect. They duly notified (some) customers of this error and refunded the difference in service fees plus interest to the affected home loans.
My home loan falls into the same category. However, I closed the loan on 27 August 2012. After two calls to the Call Centre, I have established that a refund is indeed due to me and I shall receive it "SOMEDAY".
Can someone in charge kindly advise me why there is a delay and when will my day come?
