I was informed by FNB Insurance Brokers that they are resigning as my broker due to the insurer in this case Hollard, cancelling my insurance. I apparently have until 31 January and post that I will have to find myself an alternative insurer. I do not have a problem with that, however I then requested a letter from the underwriters (Hollard) that indicates the reason for the cancellation of my policy. Note that the prospective insurer will need this letter to make full assessment of the risks involved in providing me with insurance cover; hence I requested the letter from the underwriters.
Unfortunately I am not getting corporation from FNB Insurance Brokers in getting the required letter which puts me in a tight corner and raises some serious questions regarding the reasons for the cancellation of my policy. I will soon be seeking an intervention from the Ombud as I can't stay uninsured due to FNB.
