In March 2012 over a year ago my wife and I bought our dream home. We received 90% of the mortgage cover from standard Bank who offered us a home loan. To cover the costs of Standard Bank appointed attorneys and attorney fees and the 10% shortfall they put us on two personall loans which we have been paying each individually for 18 months with interest. They also put me in a overdraft of R17000 and used this money additional to the personal loans as well. We were advised from credit assist and home loans that we would need to stay on this payment plan for a year and then we can consolidate these separate loans into one place for our house. In July 2013 after following this instruction we went to Southgate to arrange the consolidation as requested over a year before where we are currently paying 2 personal loans with interest and an overdraft with interest - The bank manager advised standard bank should not have issued a overdraft as a solution here for a house payment plan! Since submitting our application we have been declined! We cannot afford all this interest and these loans all over the place for our house! We are going to lose our house because of this!
