My experience with Virgin Horror Money is never ending. In April they froze my credit card without prior contact, that led me to be stuck & stranded in OR Tambo airport because I could not book a car, buy food or rent a hotel room. After about 12 hrs the problem was sorted without any explanation of why was there such a delay.
Fast forward to Tuesday 24 Sept. I was making some airline bookings to Johannesburg, the airline Internet app could not accept the credit card and I thought maybe its the airlines fault. So I decided to go pay for my flight the next day at the supermarket, still my credit card was not accepted, later on tried to buy groceries without success. On Thursday I called Virgin, who told me that my credit card was frozen because there are outstanding documents... really? I was instructed to go to an ABSA branch with my proof of residence and ID book, which I did... When in ABSA they didn't know how to process whatever that Virgin wanted, it took me 2 hrs in the branch without a proper explanation as to what was gong on.
I relived the nightmare of OR Tambo airport, I was not sure whether my trip will go down the same lane. Stay away from Virgin & ABSA
