FICA Requirements not possible

I recently opened a Nedbank Savvy account, very helpful easy process and arranged for the card etc to be delivered to my work address.
A few days later the delivery company contacted me to arrange a time and date for delivery (9th Sep), and I would need to have the following;
- Green bar coded ID
- Copy of green bar coded ID
- Proof of residence, must be posted not emailed.

I mentioned that a posted proof of residence was not possible, everything is now electronic and emailed, even banks are emailing all their account and credit card statements so the request seemed bizarre. I was assured they would get back to me, until today I have heard nothing.
On the 19th Sep I received a voice mail message from Nedbank saying they had noticed I had not been transacting on the account and I should contact the call centre for assistance, saying I should select option 2.

I called the call centre on the 23rd and was transferred 3 times to the correct department.
I explained the situation to which the response was that I would need something posted.
They cannot close the account because there are no FICA docs, I must go to the branch to close the account? I don't even have an acc no!
Bizarre!
