On the 12th of September I phoned ABSA legal to arrange to pay for credit card arrears. I was told by Theodora that a system generated letter would be posted to me once payment had been received I explained that I could not wait for the letter to be posted and was told then I could make a special request for email to be sent. I made payment on the 12th, however when I called ABSA Legal I was told by the operator (not Theodora, might be Sonya) that payment only reflected on the 14th, and that the system would only generate the letter that evening, however if I waited another 72 hours I could make a special request for the letter be emailed to me. I acknowledged that I understood this however it was important to me to have the arrangement letter sent to me sooner than SAPO could deliver it. Her response was call back on thursday (today 19th of September). Today a spoke to another gentleman who's name I do not recall, he went to "confirm" with the department that they can't send me an email, only system generated snail mail. I indicated that I could lose a lease agreement if the letter for whatever reason did not arrive in 8 - 10 working days. This is not 21st century banking!
