DISGUSTING - CAN A BANK BE SO DESPERATE FOR MONEY!

Received an SMS from ABSA stating that my ABSA MCI LEGAL Acc remains unpaid, I MUST PAY R2498.58 by 15:00 on the 20/06/2013. I called the number that was given to me and spoke to a lady named Mrs Henry and I told her that my ABSA credit card was paid up last year January and she Agreed that the payment reflected and asked me if i had another ABSA master card and i told her that i didnot. She then logged a call with ABSA and requested info on this so called account. later on today around 1pm i called again and spoke to another consultant and she said that this is an ongoing problem an that many customers are complaining. I explained to her that i paid up this account in Jan 2012 an she agreed with me and could view my final payment on the system and asked me whether i received a paid up letter and i said that Absa told me that they dont give paid up letters. She said the waiting period for feedback is 2 weeks..WHAT THE??? I MUST WAIT 2 WEEKS??? PATHETIC... I DONOT OWE A CENT TO ABSA AND IF THEY HAD COMPETENT PEOPLE WORKING FOR THEM THEY WOULD HAVE NOTICED THAT MY ACCOUNT WAS PAID UP A YEAR AGO!!!
