Shocking pricing of statement pages

Due to the incompetence of Standard Bank's branch staff, our address was wrong on our company record and we didn't get bank statements for almost six months for our cheque account last year. In addition, we didn't get any statements for any of our other accounts.

I sent SB an email requesting statements for the other accounts and was told it was going to cost R20 a page. This is an outrageous price to draw an electronic page off a system. It is actually shocking. There is no other term for it but price gouging. I understand there is work involved and I don't mind paying something, but I expect to pay a reasonable price for a reasonable service. I phoned our printers and they charge R0.50c per page for a photocopy. How can Standard Bank justify a price 40 times higher for an electronic page? It is simply absurd.
