Indefensible and excessive overcharging

I've been trying to get hold of some statements from last year.

After speaking to the Prestige Banking department, I agreed to getting a quote for the statements required since from previous experience, I realised that there may be quite a cost to them.

Upon receiving confirmation of the price- I was shocked to hear it would cost R920 for 4 months worth of statement.

The cost of R920 is based upon each page costing R20 (equivalent to 46 pages).

For comparison - FNB charge R5.50 for a months worth of statements (i.e. R22 for 4 months)

If that's not bad enough - a previous historical statement I paid for (at R20 a page) showed that about two thirds of the page are taken by the header and footer, with only 7 transaction records on average per a page - which is just a complete waste - especially when I tried to get just the transaction in a CSV file (something else which FNB offer but Standard don't).

Standard are committing blatant, further aggravated in that I am requesting email copies - and as such, a request for one page of statements is equivalent to a multiple page request (as far as processing time and cost to Standard Bank are concerned)
