SARS has requested that I submit documents for an audit. Bank statements have been asked for from March 2012 to February 2013. I could not find several of the months statement so I called Standard Bank to see if they could help cause surely they should still have a record for those required months. They explained to me that for months that far back, they would charge R20 a page!!! and for emailed statements too, not even printed and posted statements. I find that charge ridiculous and would first like someone to justify those costs to me.
Secondly, I tried to minimize the cost to me and specified the exact dates so that I would only receive one page per month. They sent me the entire month statement and have also duplicated some months and charged for both of them!!! Explain that service Standard Bank... I am starting to understand why you are losing so many customers to the likes of FNB and Nedbank!!!
